The Directorate of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Interior, with the aim of informing and preventive protection of citizens and tourists during the summer months, has produced an informative leaflet "RESPONSIBLE SUMMER VACATION". The leaflet is available in Croatian and English, and is intended for all citizens and tourists.
The main message of the leaflet is an appeal to responsibility and safety. It is recommended to regularly follow information about warnings of dangerous weather phenomena, including heatwaves. It is extremely important to avoid direct sunlight between 10am and 5pm, regularly consume fluids, and wear light, bright clothes. It is essential to remind that children and animals should never be left in parked vehicles.
When planning trips to nature, it is advised never to go alone. It is recommended to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and to always have enough water and food with you, as well as a charged mobile phone. In case of need for emergency help, by calling the number 112 you can get help from the police, firefighters, emergency medical services, mountain rescue services, and other services and citizens' associations involved in the civil protection system.
It is particularly emphasized that we all have a responsibility towards the environment and fire protection. Outdoor fires are prohibited. If you notice any signs of fire, such as flames or smoke, immediately notify the firefighters at the number 193 or call 112.
Responsible behavior is key to a safe and pleasant summer vacation. We are all invited to adhere to these guidelines so that the summer months pass in safety and joy for everyone.
